TNHDC win National e- Governance Silver Award 2016-17 and SKOCH Smart Governance Platinum Award 2016-17

Mithila painting, be it in fabric or canvas, is characterised by bright vibrant colours of Kings and Queens of yore, with their battalions, Palanquins, animals like the horse, elephants, ducks, peacocks and fishes and musicians with cymbals and eye –catching geometrical patterns. This painting is more like a scene of an elaborate event that takes place on a regular basis and is captured alive on the canvas. This art is patronised by Poompuhar.

“Madhubani art ” as it is popularly called, has a border with plants and fauna, or even fishes and ducks as the case maybe , matches the centre spread and is in sync with the main painting. Skilled artisans originate from Nepal and the Maithili village of Bihar state of India and their skill is executed with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens and match sticks using natural dyes and pigments. The traditional Painting is mounted on a wooden panel and yet again can be vented on a larger wooden base to confer a more artistic flavour. Just one painting adorned on any wall is sure to give that killer instinct to transform any area into a vibrant setting be it for the home or the Corporate.
